Miss Millie Gets A Makeover

Remember this post when I was having a moment of unspoken buyers remorse and started looking at the local real estate listings four months after we moved in?  Remember this house in particular that I said is my kind of house in terms of the state it was in when it was on the market?

Well guess what…

Miss Millie is back and she’s better than ever before!  She’s not mine, but I did get the opportunity to pretend she was mine by helping make all the selections to give her new life.

Although fairly clean and well taken care of, she needed lots of cosmetic help as you can see.

And now in all her glory!

A lighter color paint scheme for the siding, new darker color for shutters and front door.
Hardwood floors in all the main living areas.
Fabulous new kitchen with stainless appliances and greige colored cabinets.  Delicatus granite is the countertop.
The existing wall and enclosed bar between the kitchen and the family room was removed to make this all one nice open space.  New French doors added to let more light in and better access to the covered patio.
Master Bath:  Removing the closet door allowed for a freestanding tub.  (Scroll up to the before pictures to see this same view…hardly recognizable)
Master Bathroom:  Looking the other direction towards the separate toilet and shower area.  The walk-in shower is very large with multiple shower heads.  Separate vanities have Dark Emperador marble tops.
The Family Room got new paint and a reclaimed timber mantle.

Isn’t she pretty???

Miss Millie boasts 5 bedrooms/4.5 baths/2 car garage in addition to a huge playroom, a legitimate laundry room, Living/Dining Room and a Family Room.  Everything has been renovated…bathrooms, kitchen, paint, flooring, fixtures, hardware, countertops, appliances, landscaping.  You name it, its new.  She sits on an oversized, corner lot in the Spring Lake subdivision in Shreveport (510 Millicent Road).  You need to go check her out in person.  There really are some great details not featured here.  She’s a fantastic house!

If you have any interest in becoming her forever family, the listing is here.

Thanks to my sweet friend A for letting me help you with this.  It was fun and I say let’s find another!

Have a good one!
